Why Pay For a Call You Don’t Want to Make?

When you have a burning question or a compliant or comment the last thing you want to do is wait for hours in a queue on the phone to speak to someone. Automated services are among one of the most infuriating devices ever to have been invented. They are the epitome of a lack of customer service and are top of the list when it comes to customer dissatisfaction.

Companies whose products and services are especially technical, this could range from computer and mobile phone manufacturers to satellite television companies, should be particularly mindful of this scenario. They are unfortunately, for the most part, apparently not, and a prolonged phone call or lack of communication in general can be so frustrating the customer ultimately gives up. This could result in the customer being left with intermittent or in the worst case, loss of service or product they have purchased.

Above the annoyance brought form complicated automated services and the labyrinth of confusion they seem to lead you around and above even the companies that leave you hanging for hours to speak to their customer services is the fact you have to pay premium rates for these calls. The worst perhaps may be the companies who even have the audacity to charge you to pay your bills.

There are so many websites out there now that help consumers find geographical alternatives to the 0845 and 0844 numbers they seem to be even more insulting. It seems as though big companies are just praying on those who perhaps are not technically minded enough or are simply unaware of these services which makes the blood boil even further.

If smaller or start-up companies are looking for a way to make themselves look national and non-geographically specific there are alternatives to making their customers pay through the nose for correspondence.

A smart company, either big or small should almost definitely invest in a free phone number. Free phone numbers cost the same if not less than the premium lines to run and although there may be revenue lost initially from that made by the expensive calls, it will eventually plateau.
